Mike caught and connected a set wave mid-morning that was close to double overhead. We surfed Mizata Point for almost an hour alone. Wind on it this afternoon. Traveled light this trip. Without my good camera and lens, photos just don't do wave justice.

That barbed wire brings back memories of my trip to El Salvador way back in 1982. Went with good friend and Roberts Hall FIT dorm neighbor Ernesto Velasco, who grew up surfing the long rights, We had Punta Roca and Sun Sal to ourselves and just had to worry about getting past the heavily armed military checkpoints after every surf. The sound of explosions in the mountains at night was also unsettling.
